RHINELANDER - As flood cleanup continues in Rhinelander, people are now coming forward with cardamage. Andrew DeNamur had his car parked in a lot on Timber Drive last Friday night. Saturday he got a surprise. He says, "The water actually seeped into it on Saturday morning." The sewer overflow in Rhinelander hit Andrew's car. Now, he has a problem. Andrew says he, "Tried to clean it up, but the smell didn't really go away." Service Master project manager Don Benton says his company's yellow trucks are all over Rhinelander cleaning homes right now, but people in Andrew's situation need to seek help too. Benton says those people, "Definitely contact a professional cleaner." The experts say it's just as important to get your car cleaned as it is to get your house cleaned when it comes to your health.

Benton says, "If it's not dried properly you could have potential for mold or mildew growth and that would cause illnesses." He says having a flooded car cleaned right is important for your safety, whether sewage got in it or not. And you should also call the city. "Anyone who is in the affected area, they need to contact me. I will put them in touch with our health inspector. That's the most important thing for the city to handle," says Lisa Kuczmarski, Assistant to the Rhinelander City Administrator. She says she's handling car damage, the same as house damage. She's getting people in touch with A-1 Excavating's Insurance company to file claims. Andrew says he's getting his car cleaned Friday, so getting some reimbursement would be a big help. He says, "It's not near as bad as having a house that got flooded. But it is a pain and it is a burden." A burden Andrew hopes he and others in his situation can get some help with.
